The primary objective of this hospital programme is to facilitate community pharmacists to access career opportunities and professional development in hospital pharmacy practice setting. The programme is designed through a set of structured activities as detailed in the workbook entitled “Introduction to hospital practice for community pharmacists“. The book will be provided during your induction.
The activities focus on clarifying, distinguishing characteristics of hospital pharmacy practice and developing fundamental skills necessary to practise effectively in the hospital pharmacy settings.

Requirements:
- Current GPhC registration and indemnity insurance confirmation
- Minimum two years work experience in community pharmacy
- Up-to-date vaccinations: Varicella,MMR,BCG, and Hepatitis B.(you can get the vaccination confirmation from your GP).
- Current DBS(Disclosure and Barring services confirmation)
- Must be available to attend for a specified period of one week which will include hospital placement and four sessions of clinical workshops at our designated university partnership locations.
Delivery Schedule:
In view of high demand for this programme, we are only able to accommodate 20 participants per cohort.
The next scheduled cohort will be communicated to applicants: induction is spread over 4 sessions on weekends prior to one week Hospital placement allocations.
This is a self funded programme: fees – £985.
This fee is discounted because of part funding support via Stream Pharmaceutical UK and the collaborating partners.
Full fees are payable three weeks before the start date.
Fees will not be accepted until we can confirm your space on this training scheme.
Your obligations during the training:
- Full attendance is expected
- Participants are expected to follow hospital policy and procedure throughout your placement.
- Participants are expected to complete all set work in a timely manner.
- You may be expected to wear a uniform.
- Maintain professional integrity at all times.
- The allocated hospital is for training purposes only.
